Forestry

My love and I in all agree
As one, save this thing only:
While she likes trees in silver clumps,
I like them huge and lonely.

In this our hearts divided stand
As Egypt and the Pole
Though in all else we are not two
But one consenting soul.

And that is why we love to walk
When Night, the blackbird, perches,
Together, counting I the oaks,
And she the white young birches.
